This is a unique opportunity to get involved in vital conservation and wildlife research. Come learn in the wild. Join dedicated field workers for an experience that will enhance your learning and understanding of African wildlife and valuable field research. Our wildlife research volunteer projects offer fascinating insights into current issues, and the chance to get a closer look at how careful studies can contribute to problem solving. We give volunteers the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of wildlife conservation activities in Africa; including anti-poaching, wildlife research, animal rehabilitation and reintroduction, hands on animal care, game tracking and capture, environmental education and awareness and everyday reserve maintenance and management.
Have you ever wanted to know more about African wildlife, its diversity and beauty? Are you interested in Chimp tracking in Uganda? Then this opportunity is yours. Discover how fascinating and amazing nature is. Know more about Africa’s unique cats and wild mammals. Help disadvantaged communities and endangered wildlife. This program will allow volunteers to help uplift the environment and create a better living area for the wildlife living on reserves.
Both qualified and non-qualified volunteers can join this project. Your qualification will determine your level and area of involvement at the different placements. You must have a genuine interest in animal welfare and wildlife conservation.
Our wildlife conservation and management projects give you the opportunity to experience wildlife in its natural environment. You will work alongside experienced park rangers and field researchers on a variety of conservation efforts to maintain and preserve the beauty and wildlife of any of the countries in which you volunteer.
Living within a traditional community, you will directly support community-based conservation initiatives and economic development through sustainable resource use. Learn diverse survey techniques and contribute to vital research that will be directly applied for environmental awareness and conservation management. Help save endangered Africa’s wildlife such as the cheetah and the black Rhino through monitoring. Volunteers help educate tourists and local communities on the importance of wildlife and environmental conservation.
You could also be involved in monitoring populations, collecting data on wildlife, observing animal behaviour (e.g. wild dog pack dynamics) for research purposes, photographing and creating identity kits for reintroduced/relocated animals. You may be involved in the harvesting of wild plants for relocation.
